Caitriona Perry announced that she would be finishing up with RTÉ last year after 16 years with the broadcaster.
While we were devastated to see her go, it was for an incredible opportunity.
She joined BBC as the Chief News Presenter in the United States.
Now she’s reflecting on a year of her brand new life.

She shared several snaps of her career over the last 12 months from interviews to presenting to red carpets. It’s been a busy year!
“Today marks one year since I joined @bbcnews and wow, it has been quite the year for news!” she wrote.
“I’ve reported and presented programmes from all around the US, in temperatures ranging from -26C to +40C. I’ve interviewed all kinds of people from across the US and around the world, from heads of state to vocal voters. I’ve hosted hundreds of hours of live programmes, lengthy live coverage of set piece events and rolling, breaking news, dozens of episodes of The Global Story podcast and the BBC One 6 o’clock news.”
She went on to say: “I’ve been witness to some dramatic days in the history of US politics, (and it’s still 90 days until the presidential election). And of course, met some great people and worked with so many talented @bbc colleagues along the way. All with thanks to the 112 million people watching us around the world. It’s been a fast year, now, what’s next?!”
Well, we imagine the next few months will be very busy for her!
