Boyzone members have paid touching tributes to their late friend Stephen Gately on the anniversary of his passing.
Stephen tragically passed away in Majorca, Spain back in 2009, and his nearest and dearest are remembering the singer today.
In an emotional post, Keith Duffy shared a number of throwback pictures with his pal, reminiscing on some backstage antics as well as memorable performances.
“There’s not a day goes by where I don’t remember a wonderful memory of times spent with this beautiful beautiful man. I miss you Steo,” he said.
Ronan Keating also took to social media to show off a tattoo he has in honour of Stephen.
Alongside the pic he said, “I hear your laugh every day bro. That wicked sense of humour still gets me through.
“Thank you for the friendship. Can’t believe 9 years have passed. Miss ya bro, your song will last forever.”
The band announced a farewell album and tour earlier this year, and admitted that Stephen will very much be a part of it.
On the album, the four will pay tribute to their friend with a song called I Can Dream which was originally recorded by Stephen back in 2001.
“It’s quite a cool story,” Ronan Keating explained.
“The guy who wrote the song with Steo was moving out of his house and clearing out his garage and he found a tape with Stephen Gately written on it and he thought ‘I heard the boys are making a record, maybe I should send it into the label’ he sent it in and they sent it to us and it was unbelievable.
“The first time we were standing in the studio and Stephen’s voice comes through and it just sends goosebumps through my body.”
