Blu Hydrangea has been killing it on the dancefloor on Dancing with the Stars.

She is the second drag artist to take part in Ireland’s version of the contest.

Last year, Panti Bliss wowed the audience with her turn on the floor.

And she gave Blu some great advice before she joined the series this year.

“I talked to Panti before I was asked and she said it was an amazing experience,” she explains.

“She said that she still can’t dance so any hopes of me becoming the best dancer on earth I have left to the side. She definitely set me up for how much work it was going to be and how much of myself I had to invest into it. And it’s been a lot!

“But it’s definitely worth it. It’s the most challenging but most enjoyable thing I’ve ever done. And that’s what she set me up for!”

Speaking of the enjoyability of the show, Blu is taking on the role of Barbie this week for Movie Week. She will perform a Salsa to Dua Lipa’s Dance the Night with her pro partner, Simone Arena.

“This week is very fun. I was very stressed after the Tango, but this week is very me,” she tells us.

“It’s something I would do at my drag show with a bit of Salsa thrown in! I’m having a lot of fun with it! Being dressed up as Barbie is super camp and something I’m not a stranger to! I’ve definitely dressed up as Barbie a few times in my life! I hope it’s the opener to the show as I think it’s quite strong and will get people really excited.”

Dancing with the Stars continues on RTÉ One at 6:30pm
