BBC star John Nettles has spoken out about the deep jealousy he feels for his Poldark co-star, Aidan Turner.
Aidan plays the hunky Ross Poldark in the period drama, and has sent viewers into a spin with his shirtless scenes. However, it seems now that former Midsomer Murders detective John, who plays Ray Penvenen in the series, wanted in on the chest-baring action!
Speaking to The Telegraph the actor said, “I’m deeply, deeply jealous of Aidan. I polished my pecs dutifully in preparation for the show, they weren’t needed.”
Although the 73-year-old was just joking, he was serious when he spoke about Dublin native Aidan’s acting ability, praising him for his skill.
“But (Aidan is) as lovely off camera as he is on camera. He wears it well, he bloody well does.
“And Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) is gobsmackingly beautiful. I don’t like playing scenes with people like that, the audience isn’t going to look at me at all,” he said.
