There wasn’t a dry eye in the room after Barry Keoghan’s performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.
So it’s no surprise that the actor is up for Best Supporting Actor in this year’s Academy Awards.
He’s up against his co-star , Brendan Gleeson in the category as there is plenty of Irish talent nominated this year.
After it was announced that Barry was up for an award, he took to Instagram to share his joy.
He shared a post by The Hollywood Reporter that showcased the Best Supporting Actors and wrote: “That ones for you Brando. Daddy loves you.”
He then posted a picture of himself smiling in the car with the sun beaming in.
Barry became a father in August of 2022 when his partner Alyson welcomed baby Brando into the world.
The Batman actor first confirmed that he was set to become a parent as he celebrated his first Father’s Day earlier that year.
The 29-year-old gushed about his “first Father’s Day” as he tucked into a breakfast roll with a card that showed pictures of an ultrasound and shots of him and his partner, Alyson.
The couple was first linked in February 2021 before making things red carpet official in October.
“Barry, when you are sharing a house with an actor you are working with, a word of advice Barry,” he joked.
“Don’t eat his crunchy nut cornflakes and leave him with no breakfast in the morning. You should never send a man to work on an empty belly.”
