RTÉ has confirmed the return of Kin for a third season as well as revealing that The Walsh Sisters season two is in production.
But that’s not all that is coming to our screens…
The national broadcaster has announced its most ambitious drama slate ever, with a record-breaking 160 hours of Irish drama either currently in production or scheduled to air throughout 2026.
An increase on last year’s 142 hours, this biggest-ever drama offering underlines RTÉ’s commitment to Ireland’s creative sector and to homegrown storytelling for Irish audiences in Ireland.
Love/Hate creator Stuart Carolan is back with a brand new series.
Co-commissioned by RTÉ and BBC Northern Ireland, the brand-new darkly comedic drama Tall Tales & Murder is written by Love/Hate creator Stuart Carolan and co-created with BAFTA, EMMY and Directors Guild of America Award winner Chris Addison (Veep, Breeders, The Thick of It).
The show stars Ella Lily Hyland, Aidan Gillen, Philippa Dunne and Packy Lee.
The story is based on the much-loved eight-book Dublin Trilogy by Caimh McDonnell.
And that’s not the only show that will bring Love/Hate fans joy as Kin is set to return.
After Kin went off air in 2023, the crime show will return with a new season following the Kinsella family.
Following the fictional Kinsella crime family, the drama starred Aidan Gillen, Clare Dunne, Ciarán Hinds, Emmett J. Scanlan, Charlie Cox and Yasmine Seky.
Now season three will see them grapple with the new era of the Kinsella family with Amanda Kinsella as the head of the operation.
The synopsis for the new series says: “KIN Season three reunites the nation with the Kinsella crime family. As they consolidate power, buried betrayals and festering rivalries turn inward, and the greatest threat to the family empire becomes the family itself.”
