Aslan has officially annouced their new frontman.
Following the band’s lead singer, Christy Dignam’s passing last summer, Aslan will now be fronted by Lee Tompkins.
The news comes following a statement from the band – which is made up of members Billy McGuinness, Joe Jewell and Alan Downey – this morning, where they confirmed their return to live music.
“This announcement comes with many mixed emotions for us,” the band shared.

“After 40 years of playing with our frontman Christy, we know it’s not the same and never will be but we want to continue playing our music and bringing our music to you.”
They added: “This is our way of letting our memories of our four decades live on and keeping Aslan alive within each of us and together and keeping our music alive for you all.
“We are looking forward to seeing you again and we welcome Lee Tomkins, who will be singing our Aslam songs and has been a huge support to each of us, in being able to make this happen.”
The remaining band members also thanked fans for their immeasurable support over a challenging few months.
The Dublin band have pencilled in numerous gigs nationwide including a spot in Whelan’s on Thursday, April 25.
They will also play Cyprus Avenue in Cork, The Haven Hotel in Waterford, Crown Live in Wexford, Dolans Warehouse in Limerick and Monroes in Galway.
Tickets for their upcoming shows go on sale Tuesday, February 6th and are available to purchase from Ticketmaster.
