Aoibhín Garrihy has opened up about how she felt after moving to Clare and leaving her home in Dublin.

After meeting her husband in 2010 and getting married six years later, the pair decided to up sticks and move down to West Clare shortly after.

However, this was no easy decision, considering just how close Aoibhín is with her family.

Speaking to the RTÉ Guide, Aoibhín admitted that she initially found the move quite tough.

“It was hard, initially, for sure.

“I was leaving a career for one thing, and then a family and a support network; everything I knew I suppose,” she added.

“John was so busy with the business, so it was lonely at that point and I really needed to figure out what I was going to do and where I was at.

“I needed to figure out my own well-being.

“It feels like such a distant memory and now, the thought of loneliness when you have three kids, sounds glorious,” she joked.

Yes, after the birth of their three daughters, Hanorah, Liobhán and Isla, and Aoibhín’s thriving business, any thoughts of loneliness soon left her head.

And in case that wasn’t enough, Aoibhín also received an honorary fellowship diploma from the Leinster School of Music and Drama at the end of last year.

There’s no stopping her!
