It’s been a busy twelve months for Anna Daly, having left Virgin Media’s Ireland AM last September and anchoring Hospital Live, a prime-time RTÉ show earlier this year, but now she has a brand new project to look forward to!

As part of RTÉ’s coverage of Science Week 2022, the Little Bliss founder is set to host the live broadcast of Future Island.

Running from November 15th to 17th, Future Island will be held in UCD’s O’Brien Science Building and will explore the worlds of science and technology.

Anna will be joined by a whole host of experts – including Dr. Shane Bergin, the Assistant Professor in Science Education at UCD’s School of Education and Dr. Jessamyn Fairfield, an American physicist who researches at the University of Galway.

“Infinite possibilities” will be the theme of this year’s Science Week, which will see Anna and co addressing subjects regarding sustainability, future health, technology, climate change and future energies.

The series will work closely with Birdwatch Ireland, asking viewers to help collect invaluable data regarding birdlife that exists in Irish gardens.

This will be the seventh time RTÉ has partnered with Science Foundation Ireland on Science Week, which always proves to be a hit with viewers.

Commenting on the plans for Science Week, RTÉ’s Head of Specialised Factual Colm O’Callaghan said: “Given the uncertainty faced by global society, the infinite possibilities of science have never been more important.”

The former Ireland AM presenter is no stranger to the pressures of live television and recently fronted RTÉ’s Hospital Live, a show broadcast live from the frontline of our health service meeting workers and patients.

While not long after leaving Virgin Media, the mother-of-three was booked as a panellist on the Today Show.

Speaking about the career move, Anna admitted: “It was weird being in RTÉ — I felt like I was having an affair or something because TV3/Virgin is where I have been for all of my broadcasting life.”

RTÉ will celebrate Science Week 2022 with a wide range of specially-themed content across RTÉ television, radio, and online, from November 13th-20th.
