Ailbhe Garrihy celebrates first wedding anniversary with husband, Ruaidhri

Ailbhe Garrihy and Ruaidhri Hehir have much to celebrate as this weekend marks the couples first wedding anniversary.

The pair married last year in Doolin, surrounded by their closest friends and family, and the partying didn’t cease for days.

The beautiful bride stole the show in not one or two, but three incredible dresses.

For the wedding itself, Ailbhe looked radiant as ever in a boho style dress with lace detailing and capped sleeves.

Over the course of the weekend, she went on to wear another two stunning frocks.

Sharing some more photos of their big day to social media this weekend, Ailbhe said;

“1 year @ruaidhrih Happy Anniversary to my best friend. Thank you for always being you, and the most amazing Dad to our little Seán.”

“We’ve had an eventful year to say the least and if I’ve learned anything from our first year of marriage it’s that we’re one hell of a team. Now, let’s celebrate!”

The couple recently welcomed their first child into the world, a baby boy called Seán.

Sharing a snap of her holding her son’s hand, Ailbhe said, “And just like that, our perfect baby boy Sean Hehir made his appearance. Beyond delighted with our little man.”

Ailbhe revealed it was incredibly tough being separated from her husband Ruaidhri while in labour with their first son, Sean.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the number of people allowed in the hospital is at an all time low – so until Ailbhe was giving birth, Ruaidhri wasn’t able to be with her.

Speaking of the experience, the new mum said, “Ruaidhrí could only come as far as reception with me and I wouldn’t see him again until I was in the delivery suite.

“There were tears as we said goodbye but I just kept thinking ‘get it together Ailbhe- millions of women have done this before you and millions more will do it yet’. 13 hours later we met our perfect baby boy.”

Ailbhe went on to share her heartfelt appreciation for all the staff who looked after her and baby Sean.

“I’ve had 2 weeks to reflect on what was the most surreal but amazing experience ever,” she said.

“I couldn’t have asked for better care from my consultant and all the incredible midwives and staff at the Rotunda. Shoutout also to women’s bodies- you are f***ing amazing.”

Since returning home, Ailbhe, Ruaidhri and baby Sean have been settling into life as a family of three and things couldn’t be going better for them.

We wish them continued happiness.
