2fm presenter Carl Mullan has shared the tragic news that he and his wife Aisling Brennan suffered a pregnancy loss recently.
Opening up to The Sunday Time, Carl confessed he and Aisling were thrilled at finding out she was expecting, but unfortunately suffered a pregnancy loss very early on.
Saying: “When we found out she was pregnant again recently, we were delighted because we thought we could really enjoy it this time without worrying.”
“We had a loss quite early on and we were upset about it.
However, the comedian has shared how they are continuing on with their plan for more children. Saying: “Pregnancy loss is unfortunately a part of life though, and we’ll keep trying because we’d love more kids.”
The couple welcomed their son Daibhí in 2021, with Carl absolutely loving fatherhood.
As he said: “I’m so grateful to be a dad and the joy that Daibhí brings is amazing.”
“Ais had Covid when she was pregnant and we were worried all through the pregnancy, but luckily Daibhí was perfect.”
Explaining how he get overcome with emotion simply speaking about his little man. Carl shared: “I can’t even talk about him without crying.”
“Becoming a dad is the best thing I have ever done.”
Carl and Aisling married in April 2022.
The pair tied the knot in Co. Wicklow surrounded by friends and family. Celebrating their big day, the radio presenter shared a stunning photo of the newlyweds. Captioning it; “The love of my life” while his pals shared their well wishes in the comments.

Carl’s 2fm co-stars also showed up to support him on the special day, with his Breakfast Show co-hosts Doireann Garrihy and Donncha O’Callaghan in attendance.
