Yesterday, we brought you the news that rugby star Gordon D’Arcy and his wife Aoife Cogan had become parents for the first time, and now their baby daughter’s name has been revealed.
Gordon announced that his stunning wife had given birth by posting a sweet snap of him holding the little girl’s hand on his Twitter page, and now the social media site has also disclosed the tot’s name – Soleil!
The unusual choice – Soleil is the French word for sun – seems fitting for the quirky couple, who tied the knot in a “hippy” ceremony in 2012.
The name reveal was made by Aoife’s model boss Derek Daniels, who tweeted: “Huge congrats to Aoife and Gordan on the birth of beautiful Soleil X”
The celebrity couple received countless messages of congratulations when the news of their new arrival was shared, including from showbiz pals such as comedian Dara O’Brian.
“Congratulations to you all! A fabulous thing to happen…” Dara wrote, while fellow top model Sarah McGovern posted: “Congratulations daddy!! So thrilled for u both..Enjoy every second.”
