How to live a happier life… according to Amanda Byram

The TV Presenter has shared what she has learned over the past 41 years - and there's some pretty good rules to live by!

 

Can you believe Dublin-born TV presenter Amanda Byram is 41? Nope, us either. The Total Recall host is looking AMAZEBALLS, and it seems she’s feeling great too.

“Over the years I have laughed, loved, cried, had my heart broken – several times – drank too much, smoked too much, dieted too much, stressed too much,” she writes on new site www.amandabyram.ie.

Here are 41 things Amanda says she has learned about life..

 

  1. We all get old someday. Looks fade. Bodies wither. It’s what’s on the inside that TRULY counts.
  2. Never let anyone dull your sparkle
  3. Life is too short to spend with people who suck your energy.
  4. Eat raw when you can – ditch the microwaves
  5. Don’t be afraid to live your dreams.
  6. Try not to let alcohol be your crutch in a room full of people.
  7. Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
  8. Don’t be afraid to take risks.
  9. Don’t stress the little things.
  10. Your opinion matters. Trust yourself ALWAYS.
  11. If you don’t like something, change it.
  12. Stop asking others what they think.
  13. Travel often. It is the path to knowledge and experience.
  14. You won’t lie on your death bed wishing you had worked more. Take time off.
  15. Diets and quick fixes don’t work. Lifestyles do!
  16. We are responsible for our planet. Try to go green.
  17. Don’t assume that supermarkets only sell you the good stuff. They are there to make money.
  18. Be your own nutritionist. Be responsible for your own health.
  19. Too much of anything is a bad thing. A little bit of everything is a good thing.
  20. Alcohol leads to a foggy brain. It puts your life on hold.
  21. TV, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram take up too much of our time.
  22. Learn new things. Make a bucket list. And stick to it.
  23. In my teens and 20’s I thought i was invincible. Now I know i have to be mindful of what I do with my life and my health.
  24. You can’t change who you are, so celebrate YOU!
  25. I don’t need a man to make me happy.
  26. Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back, and realize they were the big things.
  27. Don’t be afraid to say NO to people. But remember to say YES to new beginnings!
  28. Don’t shut people out because you think they aren’t your “type” of person.
  29. Good fats can help you to lose weight!
  30. Don’t cry over a boy.
  31. Cherish good friends.
  32. Nothing comes easy. You have to work for it. But the reward is worth it.
  33. Weights won’t make you big. They will help you to burn fat.
  34. Too much coffee is bad for you!
  35. Always stop and smell the roses.
  36. Drink lemon and hot water every morning. It helps your digestive system to wake up.
  37. You really can’t please all of the people all of the time.
  38. Stop over analysing. Life is pretty simple.
  39. Age really is just a number!
  40. Stop focusing on being skinny. Focus on being healthy and the weight will take care of itself.
  41. Stop trying to fit in, when you were born to stand out.
