Dancing With The Stars contestant Dayl Cronin has opened up about the on-set romances at the show, and the lure of the infamous ‘Strictly curse.’
The Hometown band member admitted that he can understand how romances begin to flourish among dancers, due to the intimate nature of their routines. He also let the cat out of the bag on Thalia Heffernan’s rumoured relationship with professional dancer Ryan McShane.
Ryan, who is partnered with Red Rock actress Denise McCormack on the show, was once with Dayl’s partner, Ksenia Zsihotska, but the singer says that there is no bad blood between the two.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror Dayl said, “I actually do understand how it can happen because you are dancing so close to someone and you think: ‘This feels great’ and you have to step out of that moment and realise it’s totally professional.
“You obviously know about Thalia and Ryan – other than that there’s not.
“Ryan and Ksenia are still dance partners. They are great friends and she is happy for Ryan and Ryan is happy for her.”
The 23-year-old also admitted that he’s in a happy relationship with Lord of the Dance performer Nicole Lonergan, but didn’t give too much away because she’s currently touring and not in the country.
“Maybe in a couple of weeks I’ll let you know. If I win the show I’ll let you know – if she is still with me then. She’s only with me if I win the show,” he said.
