It was a great weekend for Rory McIllroy and Shane Lowry as Team Europe took home the trophy at the Ryder Cup in Italy.
Winning 16.5 – 11.5 over Team USA at the Marco Simone golf club this weekend. Both Rory and Shane played an important role in their win as Rory won four points from his five matches. While Shane took home 1.5 points from three matches.
And after an intense three days on the golf course, the pair enjoyed some well-deserved celebrations afterwards. In videos posted to the Ryder Cup Europe’s X (formerly Twitter) account, the champions were seen celebrating their victory on the bus back to their hotel.
Rory and Shane led Team Europe in a chant of “Europe’s on fire, USA are terrified”, to the tune of the Freed From Desire by Gala.

With the entire coach singing along, as Rory held their trophy in the middle of the aisle.
In another clip both Rory and Shane were seen drinking from the cup before passing it to their teammates.
Team Europe also sang: “We’re the left side of the bus!”

Speaking after their win, Rory said: “I just wanted to win another point for Europe. Ever since Whistling Straits I was so disappointed in my performance there, so to come here and get four points for the team means a lot to me.“
“It’s a great bounce back after Whistling Straits. The team we have is incredible. It’s a young team that I think will be around for a long time.”
While Shane told NBC: “I got asked a while ago, ‘What makes us a great team? Or what makes us special?’ We’re a team. That’s what we are. Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland …”
