James Kavanagh is bidding farewell to Dublin.

In fact, his final hurray to the house was a mourning party of sorts. Everyone dressed in black, with some even wearing mourning veils.

And while it is a sad moment for his pals, James is so ready to say goodbye, slán leat, au revoir, so long, to the capital city.

“We’ve been in limbo for two years, so we’re ready, so ready to just move,” he tells us at the Platinum VIP Style Awards.

So will he miss Dublin?

“No, I won’t, I’m over it. I really am!” he tells us in his usual dramatic style.

“I’ve lived here my whole life, I’m ready for the next chapter. But when I’m down there, isolated, I’d say I’ll miss being able to leg it out for a flat white.”

He won’t just be busy moving house, he also has to keep his summer free as he will be back down in the Love Teach for Grá ar an Trá season two!

“Yes, we’ve got the green light!” he enthuses.

“We’re filming in June and then it comes out in the late summer.”

As for his own mastery of the language, he says: “My cúpla focal is always growing!”
