Wild Youth has shared their devastation over the death of The Script’s Mark Sheehan.
The guitar player sadly passed away after a short illness.
It was a massive blow to the Irish music scene with several artists sharing their condolences for Mark.
Now Conor O’Donohoe, the lead singer of Wild Youth, has explained that they will honour Mark during their Eurovision performance.
“Mark was an incredibly special person,“ he told The Sunday Mirror adding that he “owes everything” to the late guitarist.
“The Eurovision performance is going to be wholeheartedly dedicated to Mark.”
Wild Youth is set to perform in the first semi-final of the song contest on May 9th in Liverpool.
The lads were selected during last night’s Late Late Euro Song special, receiving 12 points from both the public and jury vote, for their song We Are One.
Conor O’Donohoe wrote the song with Grammy-nominated songwriter Jörgen Elofsson.
We are certainly in good hands as the group is well established having toured with Niall Horan, Lewis Capaldi, Westlife, and Kodaline.
“What I love about songwriting is that I get to put songs out there and hope that they resonate with other people,” Conor previously told VIP Magazine.
“I am precious about songs that I write, I’m a perfectionist. When the song is ready to come out I am very proud of it.”
