Louise Duffy has opened up about her impending wedding to football star Paul Galvin, and admitted that she won’t be taking his surname after the ceremony.

The Today FM presenter revealed that she has no intention of changing her surname after their New Year’s wedding, but the reasoning is completely down to her career.

Speaking to Evoke.ie, Louise said, “I know a lot of people are at the moment [Jennifer Zamparelli and Mairead Ronan], but I’m relatively new to daytime, so I wouldn’t go changing it.”

She also revealed that she has absolutely no desire to enlist Paul as a guest on her show, explaining that she wants to keep her work life and personal life as separate as possible.

“I wouldn’t mix business with pleasure. I’ve seen couples work together in the media and it just wouldn’t be for us.

“I can’t see it happening. I think it’s very important to separate your work life and home life. There needs to be a distinction there.

“We don’t do anything together because we didn’t meet in that arena and it’s not the kind of couple we are.”

The two will also be taking a short break from each other over the Christmas, as they plan on spending the day with their own families.

Louise recently told the Herald, “I will be in Mayo and he will be in Kerry, so we won’t be together for it.

“We both really love being with our families on the big day so that is just how it worked out, and it’s fine.”
