Kian Egan has revealed that he is happier than ever now that he has taken himself away from the celebrity scene and settled down with his beautiful family.
The former Westlife star, his wife Jodie Albert and their two sons have returned to his hometown of Sligo to settle down for the foreseeable future.
Kian, who spent years travelling around the world with both Westlife and Jodie, is happier than ever to be back living in his “friendly and lovely” hometown.
Speaking on the The Ryan Tubrity Show, he said, “I suppose as the years went on and we got married and started having children and talked about the idea of where they would grow up and what type of lifestyle we wanted them to have, it just felt like no matter where we went in the world, Strandhill was the place for us.”
The Voice judge also spoke about his desire for his children to be part of a community during their childhood, an element which Kian feels he missed out on.
He said, “As I got older and we had children I just really wanted to be part of a community and I want my children to feel like they’re part of a community because I travelled so much as a kid working, finding that place where you belong was a weird thing for me.”
Londoner Jodie chimed in admitting that despite this, they do love a bit of city living when Kian’s filming The Voice.
She said, “We have our chill time during the week and then when he’s working we have a little weekend to ourselves and go eat in a nice restaurant and have a couple of cocktails!”
Now that Kian is finished with The Voice for this season we’re sure the family will be making the most of this scorcher of a week!
