It seems that festivals have become the new catwalks for Irish celebs. They are such a great opportunity to experiment with your look, and everyone is a little bit braver when we throw off the norms of Monday to Friday and go and live in a field for three days.
Here at VIP we’re counting down the days until we’re catching some of music’s biggest names in the main arena in Stradbally this weekend for Electric Picnic. We’ve been drooling over pics of Irish stars rocking it out at EP in previous years and have handpicked our top looks – and our celeb style inspo.
Still not sure what to wear?
A killer festival wardrobe is all about striking the right balance between style, comfort and practicality. Easy to wear separates such as t-shirts, shorts, skirts, and tea-dresses are all on the menu when frolicking in fields. Try on one (or more) of these items; we promise you’ll look cool-as-hell while you’re rocking out this weekend:
Penney’s currently have an impressive selection of fresh, wearable day-dresses including a cream paisley playsuit (€12, pictured below) and a cool tan suedette zip mini skirt (€12) which just screams festival time!
A leather backpack is another must have. Asos have some great reductions at the moment- check this little one out!
Take a leaf out of Laura Whitmore’s Festival style and rock your festival look with a pair of trophy boots. Laura is a regular on the festival scene and is rarely spotted with her statement boots. We love these edgy pair from Office.
Denim cut-off shorts are of course a festival favourite. Opt for something with texture, for example River Island’s light access wash, distressed pair (€35):
For night time, layer up with New Look’s khaki parka (€40) or biker style leather jacket to take your look to a new level:
Want that something extra to make you stand out at your next festival, why not opt for these River Island Metal Round Cat Eye Sunglasses:
Festivals are the perfect opportunity to unleash your inner boho chick and fully embrace the 70s trends – fringing, oversized sunnies, flower crowns and the likes.
Almost 50,000 people will descend on the annual bash in Stradbally, Co Laois, which will see Blur and Florence And The Machine rocking the stage. Among the new features this year are a retreat area by JustEat.ie and a giant launderette by Surf.
Also wanna keep fresh? Sure have a cool down area and this shower fresh version of their deodorant is a LIFESAVER. It’s basically a shower in a can.
