If you haven’t been to the 5 star Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate before, then Christmas is definitely the perfect time to experience all the magic this resort has to offer.

We recently stayed in one of their plush and spacious 1 bed lodges, which was decked out with its very own Christmas tree and had such a warm, cosy vibe. Some of the lodges are dog friendly and come complete with a dog bed, bowl and treats, so this was ideal for us as we were able to bring our fur baby with us on our festive getaway.
During our stay, we finally got to dine in the two AA Rosette, Pullman Restaurant, two former carriages from the Orient Express that made their debut in the original screening of the 1974 Classic Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
This unique dining experience has been on my bucket list for a number of years and it certainly did not disappoint! The setting, the service and the food were all impeccable. Such a special, memorable experience that I can not recommend enough.
After dinner you can enjoy the old world charm of the hotel while sipping on a cocktail or you can take in a Christmas film in the hotel’s private theatre!
Other dining options include the Palmer Bar & Kitchen, where we got a delicious takeaway from on our first night that we enjoyed it in the comfort of our lodge. The hotel’s extensive breakfast menu is served in the stunning River Room Restaurant which overlooks Lough Corrib, the golf course and the Pullman carriages.
