Tracy Clifford has candidly opened up on her fertility battle and admits that she and her partner are currently taking a break from IVF.

The 2FM broadcaster has been very open about her struggles with fertility over the years due to being diagnosed with endometriosis.

According to the World Health Organisation, the condition is a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus.

In a chat with the RTÉ Guide, Tracey opened up about her battle with endometriosis, sharing that she didn’t even know that she had fertility issues until she began to try for a baby with her partner Mark.

Tracy also detailed how a trip to the acupuncturist led her to learn why IVF wasn’t working for her and Mark.

After it was suggested to Tracy that endometriosis could be a reason for the difficulty in conceiving, the broadcaster decided to get a diagnosis.

It was then confirmed that she had stage three silent endometriosis.

“I never even knew that there was such a thing,” she admitted, adding that the diagnosis was “the missing piece after so many years of trying.

“It was such a relief to know at last that there was a medical reason why the IVF wasn’t working.”

Tracy and Mark are currently taking a break in their IVF journey, with the presenter noting that they are now in a place where they’ll take it as it comes.

“If it works out that we have a family, great, but if it doesn’t then we will be very happy with our life as well,” she said.

“It took a while for us to get to that place of being OK with whatever life brings but we are there now.”
