Gogglebox Ireland has proved a huge success for viewers around the country.
While watching people watch tv doesn’t sound like an interesting premise, it’s surprisingly entertaining, not to mention hilarious.
Stars of the show watch everything from The X Factor to documentaries and the news, but some shows and topics are off limits.
One show that you will never see the cast watching is Father Ted.
The huge comedy show won’t be part of Gogglebox because of it already being popular.
“All anyone does is quote the show, repeating the catchphrases, so it gets a little predictable,” producer Simon Proctor explained.
Also off limits are stories surrounding Donald Trump due to the unpredictability.
“The story with Trump is always changing so it’s best to avoid it whenever we can,” he told the Herald.
Proctor added that they try to avoid soaps as it can get confusing if they are not regular viewers.
Comedy and sad moments are often not chosen either, as they can have people laughing or crying instead of making comments.
