We’ve had plenty to celebrate with our September issue dropping on shelves this week. We caught up with Jennifer Zamparelli, Dami Hope, Lucy Kennedy and Marco Pierre White.
So Team VIP have really been enjoying this week!
Here’s what we’ve been up to.
Weekend Editor Sláine is loving…The Great British Bake-Off’s Grand Return

As someone who has loved baking all her life, there is no show that has been recommended to me more than The Great British Bake-Off. But, despite my love cutesy kitchens and brilliant bakes, I could never really get in to the Bake-Off.
Until 2020, when I watch a full season all the way through, with my family during lockdown…and promptly fell in love.
Since then it has topped my reality show list (sorry Kardashians), and so naturally it’s return this week is a very joyous occasion. I already adore literally all the contestants, and also pretty thrilled that we have an Irish contestant to root for, in Co. Antrim girl, Rebs.
It’s off to a great start, and I think Paul and Prue assigned the perfect challenges this week (although I’ll take an excuse to see a red velvet cake…so there might be a bit of bias here).
So yep, GBBO is back, and Tuesdays are now officially reserved for watching all the banter from the baking tent.

Is there anything better than food? I think not!
This week, I was very kindly invited to Six by Nico the most dreamy spot in the heart of the city. The UK restaurant chain opened its doors on Irish soil in November of 2021 and I have been desperate to go ever since.
The concept is really interesting, it is a six-course tasting menu that changes every six weeks. Right now, until the 9th of October, the theme is Greece. So all the courses are takes on Greek food from moussaka to gyros the menu is the stuff of dreams.
Over the course of two hours, I enjoyed the most delicious food I have ever tasted along with the matching wine menu. Yes, each course came with its own wine. It was truly an experience.
The six-course tasting menu costs a very reasonable €50 per person and if you want to add the wine menu that is an extra €40. And trust me, it’s definitely worth every cent.

Weekend Editor Sláine is loving…Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl

Autumn is here and with it comes plenty of changes. Sure, there’s the obvious ones like leafs going from green to orange, and the evenings getting shorter. But there are also plenty of changes happening in our beauty routines, as well.
Richer moisturisers, extra lip balm, and more hair masks are just the beginning when it comes to some seasonal beauty shake-ups. But hands down, my favourite switch of the season has got to be picking a new perfume.
Hey, I’m a firm believer that scents should follow the season!
For autumn I like something sweet, but with a bit more depth and complexity, and this year has seen the return of a classic: Carolina Herrera Good Girl.
It’s an iconic staple, that doesn’t need much introduction, but it’s what I’ve been really liking for some autumn vibes lately. With heart notes like jasmine and tuberose, it has a sweetness that could work any time of year, but with an almond top note, and base notes of tonka bean, and cocoa, it has an extremely warm and cosy scent, perfect for autumn.
Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving…Ticket to Paradise
I just love rom-coms. And we’ve been lacking in them in recent years. So when I heard about Ticket to Paradise I was super excited.
George Clooney and Julia Roberts? Come on now, you know this is going to be straight fire. I was kindly invited to a preview screening this week. So I grabbed my best friend and we headed straight for the cinema to enjoy almost two hours of pure joy.
The film has everything you ever wanted – there’s romance, there’s jokes and most importantly there is cheese and lots of it.
You’ll gasp, you’ll laugh and you might even cry a little bit.
Ticket to Paradise is out in cinemas now!
