Yes, ahead of their appearance at Electric Picnic this weekend, The Script has announced that they will play a special warm-up gig in Dublin this Friday.

The intimate gig will take place at The Academy and will be the band’s first Irish gig since the death of founding member Mark Sheehan last April.

Confirming the news in a statement at the time, the band revealed that the 41-year-old died in hospital after a short illness.

Sharing the news of the surprise gig on Twitter, they wrote: “This is going to be BIG! We’re coming home!”

Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, 30th August at 10am and are available to purchase from Ticketmaster.ie

Doors open at 7pm with The Script taking to the stage at 8.30pm.
