Alan Cantwell has revealed the real reason behind his TV3 return, admitting that it’s down to the fact he couldn’t secure work abroad.
The presenter shockingly left TV3 three years ago after working in the station since it launched in 1998.
Alan wanted to try news things in America, but it didn’t work out for him.
Speaking to Star Chic magazine, he said, “I had a number of agents working for me in US. One of the biggest issues I had was securing a work visa because at the time, we were in the depths of a depression, as was the United States.
“The case was that it was US citizens that would get the job first. That was the rule they had at the time so it became increasingly difficult to break into the States.”
The broadcaster has since returned to the Ballymount studios, and currently fronts the TV3 news at 8.
