Eoghan McDermott has shared his support for Jenny Greene, following her decision to leave 2FM.
The presenter, who has been with the station over 12 years, confirmed the news of her departure this morning.
Jenny revealed she’ll be leaving 2FM entirely, while Nicky takes a break to focus on Westlife’s reunion.
In a tribute to his colleague, Eoghan said, “Loved our Electric Picnic jaunts. Your laugh is contagious and you guys created a lovely breezy vibe for five solid years. Big shoes to fill. The future’s bright.”
As part of the shake-up, it was also revealed today that Jennifer Zamparelli will be getting her own show.
The presenter, who’s currently hosting Dancing With The Stars with Nicky Byrne and 2FM’s Breakfast Republic with Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh, be will going solo for her new gig.
Speaking of her new show, which kicks off June 10th, Jen said, “I’m delighted to have this opportunity and even though I’ll miss my pals Breakfast Republic, I will still be popping in to distract them and sabotage their show on a daily basis.
“I may not be on the breakfast show anymore, but the deal is I still have to get them coffee every morning,” she laughed.
“I’m thrilled for the opportunity, thrilled to do something different and thrilled to be getting up slightly later than stupid o’clock every morning.”
