Eoghan McDermott is currently one of the most recognisable faces on the Irish media circuit, you may know him as a broadcaster for 2fm or the co-host of The Voice of Ireland, but 14 years ago he was best known he was best known for fronting a kids show on TG4.
The Irish station is celebrating 20 years on air and to celebrate they have been sharing clips of shows that have aired through out the years.
One throwback clip, in particular, that caught our eye was a 19-year-old Eoghan McDermott presenting kids show Cula 4 in the early noughties.
In the video, Eoghan is sporting spiky hair along with a colourful t-shirt coupled with combat jeans – a far cry from his usual fashionable self!
The 2fm star has admitted that the kids show “shaped his entire professional career” and he never expected to land the role when he was a broke student.
“I randomly auditioned for the children’s show Cula 4 when I was 19 in UCD and desperately unemployed,” he said.
“I didn’t think I’d a hope in hell of getting it.”
On Monday night, TG4XX Beo will broadcast live from 9.30pm to 11.30pm on the channel to celebrate their anniversary.
