Chinese New Year Festival

The Chinese New Year Festival kicks off in Dublin this weekend, and runs right through to February 21. The programme promises to showcase the best of Chinese cultures, celebrating their wonderful traditions, including painting workshops, concerts, and foodie events. Big Maggie

Big Maggie is taking place in the Gaiety Theatre from now, right through until March 12. The show sees Aisling O’Sulivan make her return to the role of Big Maggie, while starring alongside the likes of Boyzone’s Keith Duffy, Frank O’Sullivan, Clare Barrett and Emmet Byrne. Tickets are priced from €21, and can be purchased through Ticketmaster and the Gaiety box office.

Al Porter

Top up and coming comedian Al Porter is taking to Hawkswell Theatre in Sligo for a night of guaranteed giggles. The show, Al Porter Is Yours, takes place Friday 5, with tickets priced at €16. We’ll certainly be heading along!

Pottery making in Dublinia

Ever fancied trying your arm at a bit of pottery making? Well now’s your chance! This Saturday, there’s a clay pottery making session in the Dublinia, with the Irish School of Archaeology. While at the class, you’ll learn how to make ancient pots, decorate them with historical designs and hear all about what they were used for. Admission – adult: €7.50 child €5.00.

F104’s Help A Dublin Child

FM104 has teamed up with the ISPCC to raise much needed funds for their services. FM104’s ‘The Gig’ will see a host of top Irish stars take to the stage for a night of entertainment in The Olympia Theatre, Saturday 6. Some artists on the night include The Coronas, Gavin James and Ryan Sheridan. With all proceeds from ticket costs going towards the ISPCC, and a musical line-up like that, it sounds like one concert certainly not to be missed.
