As Seachtain Na Gaeilge kicks off, Stephen Fry has reminisced over his time in Ireland.
The UK presenter is no stranger to the Emerald Isle, having worked here before on Irish drama, Ros Na Run.
Stephen has fond memories of his time here, as he got to learn and practise a new language.
“I had the great good fortune to appear in Ros na Rún, the famous Irish language drama,” he said in a video for RTE.
“I’ve spent many happy days of my life staying in the Gaeltacht area and I know what a living language it is.
“I think it’s an immensely important part of being Irish and is one of the many things that makes being Irish special and makes non-Irish people like me grind our teeth in envy of what it is that you have.”
Seachtain Na Gaeilge, a celebration of our Irish language, takes place around the country until March 17th.
