Stephanie Davis has claimed that Jeremy McConnell is a drug addict and will be heading to rehab very soon.
The actress and the former Mr Ireland took to Twitter yesterday to confirm their reunion, but their reconciliation only came about because Jeremy admitted he had a drug addiction and agreed to undergo treatment.
Stephanie has said she will stand by Jeremy on his road to recovery.
“From the beginning of last year, from when I was trying to prove to everyone I was pregnant and everything like that, Jeremy has had a drug problem.” she told OK! Magazine.
”He has agreed to go to rehab for six weeks. It will be quite immediate. Jeremy knows that he is 100% in the wrong. And he has done things that aren’t good. But he isn’t a bad person, deep down, he’s not an evil vindictive person.
“He has had a drug problem which he has now admitted to, which is brilliant because for the whole year and the half, when someone can’t admit they have a problem – that’s the problem. And now he has admitted it. And so I’m willing to stand by him and help him.”
The reality star went on to say that she never stopped loving the Dublin native, despite everything he put her through.
“I’m not an idiot and I’m not a mug, and he knows he’s been absolutely appalling and I’ve said that to him.” she said.
“He knows how absolutely lucky he is to have another chance with me. He knows how bad he’s been. But I do love him. I never stopped loving him.
“Sometimes when you’re in that position you hurt the people you love the most. You’re not mentally right with it. I feel like he’s done that to me – it’s not because he doesn’t love me, it’s because he’s totally in despair.
“This time he’s held his hands up and said ‘I’ve got a problem and I can’t continue with this. And I love you and I can’t lose you and I don’t want to lose our son. I want to do everything I can to make it right.’ I told him he needed to go to rehab and he was like: ‘I know. I need to get help.’
“Jeremy is a very troubled lad, he didn’t have the best start in life with his mum, brother and sister dying and his dad dying recently.”
We wish Jeremy the very best with his recovery.
