Spencer Mathews and Vogue Williams have been happily engaged for a number of weeks now but Spencer has revealed that the proposal didn’t exactly go to plan.
The reality star popped the question following a show at London’s West End.
The couple went to see the Lion King and Spencer surprised Vogue after the show.
However, the 28-year-old admitted Vogue nearly had no ring on her finger.
“I asked Vogue to be my wife then closed the box and stood up, forgetting to put the ring on her finger,” he said, according to the Mail on Sunday.
It seems that in all the excitement, Spencer forgot the all-important part that is placing the diamond on her ring finger.
In a statement about the proposal, he admitted he knew that Vogue was ‘the one’ for a long time.
“We’re very happy and in love. She’s my best friend and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her,” he said.
“The engagement had to be special, and as our first trip away together was to Disneyland Paris, it felt like the perfect fit,” he added in a statement according to The Mirror.
“The Lion King is also one of the greatest stories of all time, so I figured that having just had a romantic evening watching it, she’d probably say yes!”
The couple seems delighted to be taking their relationship to the next step.
They celebrated in Dublin after the big announcement earlier this month.
It was also revealed that the massive engagement ring cost quite a fortune.
