Sile Seoige has opened up about suffering a miscarriage.

The TV presenter revealed that she is coming to terms with the tragic loss that occurred before Christmas.

“A number of months ago I found out I was pregnant and we were absolutely over the moon,” she revealed.

“All was great, but it wasn’t meant to be.”

The star goes on to explain that she suffered from a missed miscarriage, which she had never heard of before it happened to her.

“It basically means that you miscarry but nothing is happening physically to you,” she said on Instagram.

Sile then had to go through a D&C procedure also known as a dilation and curettage procedure. Doctors often perform this procedure to clear the uterine lining after a miscarriage.

The host praised the Coombe staff for being ‘amazing and compassionate’.

“It’s about 10 weeks since my D&C and I have yet to have a period which is frustrating and strange,” she revealed.

Sile and her fiance Damien have one child together, Cathal, who turned one in August.

“It’s okay for me to talk about it now coz I’ve processed it but obviously at the time it was very difficult,” she said.

“You don’t just get over it you know? You have to give your body time. Not just your physical form but your thoughts and emotions too, just everything is impacted.”

Sile encourage others to talk about their issues with a friend as talking about it helped her a huge amount.

“There is always stuff that is going on in peoples lives that we have no clue about it,” she said, reminding people that social media is not real life.

“What we see on social media is just a snapshot into people’s lives. If you’re struggling just know you’re not alone.”

After recounting the emotional story on Instagram, Sile revealed that she was sent numerous messages of love and support.
