Sile Seoige has spoken out about how her life has changed since becoming a mother, just seven weeks ago.

The former Newstalk presenter welcomed her first child Cathal with partner Damien O’Farrell on August 2nd, and is now gushing about her new life as a mum.

“On a daily basis you see him change and I can’t believe how quickly these weeks have flown,” she told Independent.ie.

“Every day we are noticing different things, and he’s starting to smile and react.

“My partner came in from work the other night and he started to smile and I was roaring.

“I had to leave the room I was crying so much. I was like, ‘what will we be like when he starts talking?’.

“No one can explain it to you until you go through it. It’s tough but it’s so worth it. It’s so challenging but so incredibly rewarding. You’re obsessed with this little thing.”

The Galway girl, who appeared at the National Ploughing Championship with Aldi, also revealed that going back to work after giving birth was made easier by having her little boy with her.

“We’re here as a family unit,” she said.

“It’s a whole new world. It’s a difference experience for me this year than it was in previous years, but we’re doing it.

“Its just about making it work and making it work with brilliant people. Aldi have a great set-up here, and I’m not just saying that.

“Their feeding room is lovely. They had a smaller room last year and they expanded it this time.”

It sounds like she’s settling in to motherhood just great!
