Usually one of the most serious women in broadcasting, Sharon Ní Bheoláin, let her persona slip last night as she casually referred to her co-presenter, Brian Dobson as ‘Dobbo’.
The pair who are normally extremely formal, were laughing just after a segment about the Late Late Toy Show, when the cameras turned back on them.
As both begin to talk, Sharon turns and says, “No Dobbo, you go.”
Now we all secretly call him that, but to his face? Never!
Viewers were quick to catch the moment, and took to social media to share their delight at her blooper.
One user said, “Ha! Sharon just called Dobbo, Dobbo. She’s morto! It’s the #SixOne equivalent of called your teacher, Mammy.”
While another said, “Sharon called Brian ‘Dobbo’ live on the RTE Six One. She was getting a bit excited over the Late Late Toy Show.”
Whatever the reason, we got a good giggle out of it. It’s nice to see their less serious side every now and again.
