Boyzone’s Shane Lynch joined his good pal Keith Duffy, and ex Westlife star Brian McFadden in Birmingham last weekend.
The Boyzlife lads were doing their thing, performing a mix of hits from both boybands, when Shane came on stage and began singing Words with Brian. The banter continued when the Dublin men took on Westlife hit Mandy.
According to the Irish Sun dad-of-two Brian said, “Can you handle a Westlife song? There’s a challenge!” He also likened himself and the boys to “a good looking Atomic Kitten.”
In 2015 Shane took to social media to say that Boyzone and Westlife should join forces. On Facebook he wrote, “Just a quick look at some old times… These two young Irish groups made their mark on the world. Although it could never be this line-up, maybe it’s time to join forces and do one of the biggest tours we have ever seen!”
Perhaps this collaboration can finally go ahead now that Boyzone are set to celebrate their 25th anniversary later this year.
