As the excitement builds for the Irish version of Dancing With The Stars, bosses at the show are hard at work finalising details for the production which is set to be big- err, too big perhaps.
It seems that RTE studios are too small to house the dancing competition, and organisers have been forced to look elsewhere. Even Dublin’s Helix Theatre, the location for the Voice of Ireland, doesn’t provide the space that the show requires.
A spokesperson for Dancing With The Stars told the Irish Sun that RTE studios don’t compare in size with Elstree Studio, where the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing is filmed, and they’re on the hunt to find a suitable location for the highly anticipated programme.
“BBC Strictly is done at Elstree Studio. We don’t have studios like that in Ireland. “We have until January to find somewhere,” the source said.
Dancing With The Stars will hit our screens on RTE One in January.
