In what could be our most random story of the day, Conor McGregor could find himself immortalised on the €1 coin.
A petition to get the MMA star’s face on the coin was sent to the Oireachtas on December 15th, and according the official website, is due to be discussed today.
The website gives information on what will be brought up by Government later this evening, and states, “We will discuss a petitioner’s request that sports personality Conor McGregor feature on the €1 coin.”
The Dubliner couldn’t be happier, and took to Twitter to share his excitement.
“It would be a true honour for me to be immortalised on the €1 coin! Thank you to my fans for the petition. Let’s go Oireachtas! Vote YES,” he said.
The news comes shortly after Conor’s latest fight was confirmed late last night.
The Crumlin native will fight Rafeal dos Anjos on March 5th, and we’re already getting excited!
