Samantha Mumba has revealed that she was asked to take part in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here a number of times, but turned it down because of she has a massive fear of spiders!

The Dublin native told the Irish Sun that she’s terrified of the eight-legged arachnids, and couldn’t handle the jungle because of them. She also said that she would only take part in a reality show if it could teach her something.

“I can’t deal with spiders so I know I would make a holy show of myself. I only do reality shows if its something I’m genuinely interested in and I can learn something from it,” she said.

The Gotta Tell You singer has just wrapped filming for TV3’s Celebrity Master Chef which will air next year, and she says that competing in the show has left her with culinary skills that she can put into practice when making meals for her family.

“Doing Masterchef was the most amazing experience. I have always loved cooking, and had an interest in culinary. But as regards as pursuing it, I just want to cook for my family and the plates will be more adventurous,” she said.
