RTE bosses have responded to ‘fix’ claims following Des Bishop’s elimination from Dancing with the Stars last weekend.
Despite impressing judges with his routine, Des was kicked off the show on Sunday evening.
Straight after the programme, the comedian said that something odd is going on with the public vote, and that there are flaws in the system.
The voting numbers aren’t released to the public, however according to show bosses, this is common protocol.
An RTE spokesperson told the Irish Sun, “We don’t give breakdowns on the voting as this information is commercially sensitive and may also have an impact on the voting patterns for the remaining shows. It works the same for Strictly on the BBC.”
DWTS producer Larry Bass added, “The public voting system on our show is entirely fair.
“The same thing happens on this show around the world where people like Des, he might not be great dancers, get votes because they are comical or entertaining.”
