Rosie Connolly shares emotional reason for supporting Shop4Crumlin campaign; “my worries seemed so small”

Rosie Connolly

Whilst most of us know Rosie Connolly for her style and her brand 4TH ARQ, something she is also well-known for is her commitment to helping out with charities when she can. Today she helped to launch Crumlin Children’s Hospital’s latest campaign, Shop4Crumlin and she revealed why it’s a cause close to her heart.

Before she hit the headlines with her incredible fundraising last year on social media, Rosie had taken part in an ab sail in Croke Parke for charity. Afterwards she was invited in to the hospital for a visit and shared how eye opening and emotional she found the experience.

At the time she revealed that her biggest worry for her kids was drop-offs, pick-ups and how her eldest was settling into school. However, after visiting the wards she shared she realised how lucky she was; “I was on the heart unit seeing brand new babies and their parents.”

Rosie continued; “I remember feeling like my worries and my concerns about my kids were so minuscule in comparison to what was going on in there” and that it was incredible emotional; “I had to step outside because I couldn’t stop myself from crying.”

The mother-of-two shared that this is why these types of causes are so close to her heart and why she supports them; “Your childhood goes by so fast and I thinks that’s what is robbed of kids who are in hospital.”

The money raised from Shop4Crumlin will be going towards giving these children a bit of normality back, like being able to order a pizza and have a movie night with their family who come to visit or even for Christmas/Mothers or Fathers Day gifts.

“Its about giving back that bit of childhood for a kid that’s in hospital,” Rosie added.

Shop4Crumlin launches on Monday 19th of September and you can help by shopping with a One4all gift card! By using one in any of their 11,000 retail partners in-store or online next week, you can help bring laughter to the young patients in CHI at Crumlin.

During Shop4Crumlin week, One4all will donate 50c to Children’s Health Foundation Crumlin’s Giggle Fund at CHI at Crumlin for every transaction made using a One4all Gift Card or Digital Gift Card. This means the more you swipe or tap a One4all Gift Card, the more they donate!

Additionally, New Look, Life Style Sports, Argos, River Island and Currys PC World have teamed up with One4all for the week and have pledged to donate an additional 50c, bringing the total to €1 every time a One4all is spent with them in-store or online.
