Rory O’Connor set up Rory’s Stories less than a decade ago and in that time he has done things many can only dream of.
He’s toured around Ireland and internationally, he’s appeared on TV shows and he’s written best-selling books.
So when he sat down in front of his camera in 2013 did he ever think any of this was possible?
“100 per cent,“ he tells VIP Magazine in a chat thanks to Subway.
“I’m a big believer in the law of attraction and all that stuff. I started Rory’s Stories in 2013 and I had a strong gut feeling that something was happening.
“I do a lot of talks in schools about trusting your gut feeling and don’t let fear get the better of you.“
However, he admits that back in 2013 he had no idea where this journey would lead him.
“When I sat down to write Rory’s Stories in 2013, if you had said to me in 2022 that I would be a full-time standup comedian and performed in Vicar Street and all over the world, written four best-selling books, been on TV shows, been on the Late Late Show I wouldn’t have believed you.
“But there is a part of me that knew it was going to happen. I just had to work hard. It comes down to hard work, but that doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable.“
He is extremely grateful for his career, enthusing: “I love what I do. I’m very happy and lucky that I am living a life that I never thought would be possible when I was younger. I’m very thankful.“
