Rory McIlroy shocked onlookers yesterday after he had a fan thrown out of the Ryder Cup for verbally abusing him.
The Ryder Cup kicked off on Friday at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota and despite the Northern Irish golfer playing a perfect game yesterday -he still incurred abuse from fans at the competition.
Between the 7th and 8th hole a fan shouted at Rory saying, “suck a d***” and also made references to his split with Caroline Wozniaki.
The 27-year-old did not take the insults lying down and according to USA Today, he pointed him out to a course marshall, confronted him and the disruptive fan was then quickly removed.
A journalist at the Ryder Cup caught the confrontation of camera:
More nasty stuff out there Fri/Sat than any Ryder Cup I've covered since Sunday at Brookline. That's not good. pic.twitter.com/i7lMR6R10q

Luckily, Rory didn’t let the disruption effect him too much and he continued to play a stellar game after the heckler was removed!
