Hands up who is guilty of the following: heat styling your hair on a daily basis? Dying your locks? Brushing out knots in your hair like a madwoman?

Let’s be honest, we all regularly use GHDs or curlers and book into the salon to top up our highlights, but we may not realise that repeated styling & straightening and endless dying all plays havoc with our hair, leaving ends looking tatty and dull.

In fact, according to L’Oreal, 57% of women today are embracing longer hair – yet with every 12cm of hair having endured twelve months of heat styling, abrasive brushing and UV exposure, the hair fibre is prone to breakage and left hard to manage.

With that in mind, a new L’Oreal Professionnel treatment has been designed to ensure you don’t have to pop in to your hairdresser for a quick trim off the ends, and even better yet, you can do it all at home.

The ‘Pro Fiber’ treatment is being described as a ‘game changer’ – it’s the first of its kind in the market and with three simple steps, it’s easy to transform your damaged tresses into silky, glossy locks.

VIP visited the Dylan Bradshaw salon on South William Street to try it out for ourselves – and you can see the transformation yourselves with this incredible before & after shot!

Patricia Strachan from L’Oreal explained to us that Pro Fiber was designed as a ‘haircure’,  that cares for your hair like a manicure cares for your hands. After 7 years of intense research on damaged hair, the brand’s Research Laboratories developed their most sophisticated technology to date: the Aptyle 100 Molecule Complex.

This enables the treatment to penetrate and lastingly grip to the hair fibre inside and out on damaged cuticles – resulting in manageable, soft and healthy-looking hair.

This is how it works: an in-depth hair fibre consultation with your hairdresser to asses your personal damage is conducted in the salon and it’s decided upon whether you need REVIVE, RESTORE or RECOVER for your treatment. The Pro Fiber is massaged into your hair fibre and left in for just five minutes before it is washed out, and you can see and feel an instant boost to your locks, which look bouncy and full of life straight away.

Following this, to maintain the salon treatment effectiveness, the prescribed follow up Pro Fiber program for you needs to be used every time you wash your hair on a weekly basis. Then, on every fourth shampoo, the recharge booster of APTYL 100 needs to be used instead of your conditioner or masque to reboot the effectiveness and long-lasting resilience of the salon treatment.

We continued using the aftercare following our appointment and can vouch that our hair is looking better than ever. For all details, and for your closest salon or stockist, click here.
