Harry Styles has opened up about the real reason behind One Direction’s split back in 2015.
The group, who rose to worldwide stardom following their stint on the X Factor, decided to go their separate ways two years ago.
Harry has revealed that the band were exhausted, and wanted to ensure they went out on a high, instead of their fans becoming bored.
Speaking to Rolling Stones Magazine, the singer admitted, “I didn’t want to exhaust our fan base. If you’re shortsighted, you can think, ‘Let’s just keep touring,’ but we all thought too much of the group than to let that happen.
“You realise you’re exhausted and you don’t want to drain people’s belief in you.”
While fans were – and still are – upset about the announcement, the group have always said that they wouldn’t say no to a reunion down the line.
“I love the band and would never rule out anything in the future,” Harry said. “The band changed my life, gave me everything.”
