It’s not easy for an Irish model to break away from the stereotype, something which Pippa O’Connor is all too familiar with, and something which she had to fight to shake off.
The hugely successful blogger says that she had to work hard to change people’s perceptions of her, and prove that she’s not simply a “dumb blonde”.
“There is a stigma attached to models and it’s probably harder for someone like me to move away from that and be seen as something different and to be taken seriously as a businesswoman,” she said.
As well as running her own extremely successful website, pippa.ie, the 31-year-old is kept busy with her fashion factory days out and filming for Xpose.
The mother-of-one also recently launched the “Pippa Palette”, her first make up collaboration with Blank Canvas cosmetics.
Speaking to The Herald, Pippa revealed that it wasn’t an easy road trying to break away from the “dumb blonde” image that some people may have associated her with.
“It can be done. I suppose you just have to work hard at it like everything else..If you’re passionate about what you want to do, you’ll get there”, she said.
The multi-talented Kildare native recently celebrated reaching 100K followers on Instagram and also celebrated turning thirty-one, a birthday which she spent with husband Brian and gorgeous son Ollie.
“It was lovely, there was great excitement. I came back from the Dublin Horse Show last week to have a gorgeous bouquet of flowers waiting for me,” she said.
