Stylish ladies dressed in chic summer looks were out in force to enjoy the wonderful surroundings of The Shelbourne Hotel recently for Miriam Ahern’s annual Summer Lunch in aid of CARI.
The afternoon began with a champagne reception kindly sponsored by House, Dublin and was followed by a delicious four-course gourmet lunch with wines supported by M&S.
Guests who attended on the day included Miriam Ahern and Terry Mc Coy, Georgina Byrne, Glenda Gilson, Jane Given and Lisa Murphy, as well as Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh, Nuala Carey, Sean Munsanje.
The charismatic Alan Hughes from TV3 was the MC for the afternoon, and after lunch guests were entertained by the Sisters of Sound. The day came to an end after a fun filled raffle, and guests continued to enjoy the event at House, where the official post-lunch cocktails were served.
CARI provides a professional child therapy and counselling service to children and families who have been affected by child sexual abuse.
It is hoped that in excess of €15,000 was raised at the lunch to help with the growing demand the charity faces – in 2014 alone, CARI provided 1800 therapy appointments to children and their families in Dublin and Limerick . Money raised from the lunch is essential to CARI to maintain each and every one of these important services for children.
