PICS! Celebs turn out to judge final of ‘Junk Kouture’

Louis Walsh and Vogue Williams were on hand to help pick a winner on the night, which was hosted by Glenda Gilson!

He’s used to sitting on the panel of the X Factor, but Louis Walsh swapped his seat beside Simon Cowell to judge secondary school contest ‘Junk Kouture’ on Friday night in the 3Arena.

Louis was joined by model and TV presenter Vogue Williams, as well as stylist and TV presenter Rob Condon, art and design educator Tracey Fahey and Repak Marketing & Communications Manager Laura Murphy to pick the winners of the Grand Finale of the Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture in association with Repak Recycled Fashion Competition 2015.

Xpose’s Glenda Gilson also featured on the night, after she raced from filming the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards to host the teenage event, which involved 80 secondary school students sporting their stunning couture designs fashioned from…well, rubbish!

After months of preparations the talented teenagers strutted the catwalk with their carefully choreographed routine in the hope of impressing the judges in front of thousands of screaming fans in Ireland’s largest indoor venue.

The celeb panel had the challenging task of selecting the winners of several different categories plus the Overall Winner for Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture 2015 from the extraordinary pool of talent.

In the end, the big winner was Le Paon Majestueux modelled by Sarah Cox. The outfit made from chicken wire, old magazines, aluminium and peacock feathers was an entry by Elphin Community College, who won a cash prize of €2,500 for their school along with iPad Minis and a further cash prize of €500 for the winning team.
