Nuala Carey is on our screens most nights as weather presenter on RTE, so it’s no surprise she is often recognised by strangers when she’s out and about.
However, the presenter admitted that she gets strange requests from fans who approach her.
Nuala is also a Lotto presenter on RTE and says that more people come up to her about that part of her job. Specifically, they even ask her to kiss their Lotto tickets for good luck.
“People are more into winning the lotto – even two women just came up to me and said ‘Oh what are the lotto numbers?’
“They rub off me, or people have lottery tickets and they ask me to touch it or kiss it,” she told the Mirror.
“I don’t mind. I understand it though, if I saw someone who presents the lottery I might think ‘That’s a sign, maybe I should go and buy a ticket’” she admitted.
“I’m not allowed to play – it’s a shame. That’s why I always say to people ‘It could be you’ – because it can’t be me.”
