Laura Fox and Eileen Dunne formed a fast friendship during their time on Dancing with the Stars.

And now they have finally been able to reunite after the show came to an end a handful of weeks ago.

Laura made it to the final but was beat out by Jason Smyth, while Eileen was sent home in week seven after the first dance-off of the season.

Now Eileen and Laura have gotten their chance to reunite over a lovely lunch.

Laura shared a picture of Eileen holding up a glass of bubbles in Café en Seine in the heart of Dublin.

“Our big catch up @dunne2446 FINALLY,” she wrote.

While Eileen reposted the same with the caption: “Much to celebrate”.

Of course, this is in reference to Laura taking over Jennifer Zamparelli’s weekday 9am-12pm slot on 2FM.

Jennifer announced last week that she would not be returning to the station with Laura confirmed as her replacement, moving on from her weekend slot.

Laura shared the good news on Instagram, writing: “Here we go. I don’t even have the words right now to describe how happy I am, I’ll be taking over 9-12 from @jenzamparelli on @rte2fm.

“I moved up from Galway 8 years ago wanting to get a job in 2FM with not a breeze how I was going to go about it and I did every job under the sun to get here. I can’t thank Jen enough for all the opportunities she gave me when she kicked off the show 5 years ago, sending me all around the country, prank calls and phone bans. Ill be forever grateful for the support on and off air.”

She continued: “There’s so many people I want to thank but there’s one person in particular and that’s Alan McQuillan, he championed me from day dot on RTE Pulse and got me across the hall to 2FM. He used to lurk around hallways with me to run into the bosses and come in at 5am to make sure I was set for covering weekend breakfast but more importantly he was the absolute craic and a great friend and I’m sad he’s not here today to celebrate with me but I know he’d be so buzzed.”

She gave her partner, Brian a shoutout writing: “My B Balls, I love you so much. You’ve been with me the whole way and never ever wavered your support. Dunno how we’ll cope actually seeing each other so much now hahah.

“My friends and family, I’m so lucky to have you. I can finally start showing up to gatherings haha To all of my colleagues in 2FM, I love our team so much. It’s small and mighty and god we love radio! Ok byeeee enjoy your weekend and join me MONDAY AT 9!!!!”
